Richard & Family, My prayers go out to you and Charlie. Charlie was very lucky to have found you even if it was only for a short time. You made him very "HAPPY" his last days.

RE: NJ Camping with close beach access

You may have a hard time getting in at one of the Jersey shore campgrounds they get crowed in the summer and some of them have 1 week minimum stays in July and August. I made our reservations in January for August.

RE: NJ Camping with close beach access

Thats a tough one, all the campgrounds are out on Rt 9. Would you be happy a few miles away with a lake and its own beach?? Like Ford Truck guy said nothing close to the beaches or boardwalks, you might check some of the campgrounds in the Cape May area, I know there is a train that runs along there and goes into the Center of Cape May, which you could possible take and walk to the Cape May Beach, there is shopping in Cape May, but no boardwalk. We like Beachcomber Camping Resort, it has 3 pools and a lake with sandy beach. Oceanview Resort, also has a pool and lake with sandy beach. Neither have shuttle transportation to the boardwalks or beach.

RE: Teriyaki Barbecued Chicken Sandwiches-Crock-Pot

Lynne, I just wanted to let you know I made this over the weekend and even my kids ate it. Only thing was I could not find stir fry sauce liquid or dry, so I used Teriyaki sauce. I plan on making this for our pot luck dinner at our annual camping trip in June. Thanks. :B

RE: Knoebels Grove PA

We camp there every year, but never been in the cabins. The website says the following about the cabins: Log cabins include hand crafted log table and stools, main room, loft, electricity, 3 double foam mattresses. Campers must supply their own bedding. Sleeps up to 6, double cabins sleep up to 16. Check out time is 11am, check in time is 3:00pm. Modern restrooms located nearby.

RE: Help name our puppy.....

I like the name "YE". When you step outside and call your dog you are saying "Hear Ye, Hear Ye!" :B

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

GizmosMom, your not crazy. We lost our Rocky over 10 years ago, he lived to a ripe old age of 13, he was our first dog. I swore we would never get another dog that was as good as him. 2 years later while visiting the Humane Society, we saw a puppy who looked just like rocky only she was a she. She was the runt of the litter and shy, sitting in the back of the cage, as soon as I bent down, she came right over to me and we bonded immediately. I went back 2 days later to get her, my daughter named her Oreo. Don't think I'm crazy, but I swear she is Rocky reincarnated and was waiting there for us. She not only looks like him, but she came home and was trained in days and she even does some of the same things he did. Even though Oreo reminds us of Rocky, we still miss him and think of him often. I am so glad to hear Old Fella is doing better, and my prayers for him will continue.

RE: Biscuit Rounds

Looks Yummy. Thanks for the great idea, I have added it to my food menu for the next trip. After seeing this I also thought of taking pizza dough and cutting into small rounds with sides, baking and then taking pizza sauce and cheese with me to make mini pizza. Thanks again

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I am so glad to hear Fella is doing better. I will continue to keep him and you in my prayers. As others said I was really scared to read the posts this morning. I think all the praying (and the medicine) may have helped Old Fella, his is one tough dog. I really would love to attend the rally in June to meet Fella and all the great people on this thread, but with School not being done yet and other vacation plans already set it won't be possible.

RE: night lights

How about one of those round lights with dome that you push to go on and off they are battery operated. I don't know the name of them, but I have seen them in stores.

RE: Who's dieing to go?

Don't die, then you'll never get out.....:B I feel your pain...we are headed out in a couple of weeks, been trying to get out the past few weeks, but with husbands work, rain and teenage dances :E no time it seems. To pacifye myself I cleaned and stocked the 5th wheel a few weeks ago, I think that made it worse.

RE: Pork chops with saurkraut

I brown the pork chops, then saute some chopped onion and maybe some chopped apple, put all back in frying pan, pour can of sauerkraut over all, cover and simmer till done. Could be cooked all in a crock pot. A little salty, but tasty. I'm not sure about how much liquid to put in the crock pot if any. Good Luck Tumbleweed: Try rinsing the sauerkraut with cold water first, it takes some of the salty taste away. Lucy: I just put some sauerkraut on the bottom of slow cooker, put down some boneless pork chops and put some more sauerkraut on top of the pork, sprinkle a little sugar (to cut the sour) and cook all day on low. I don't add any spices, meat falls apart. Make some mash potatoes and yum......

RE: LAKE AND SHORE, OUTDOOR WORLD

Are you camping at Lake & Shore, is it open to the public or do you need a membership there? Have you been there before? How are the facilities and campground? We have tried several campgrounds along the shore route for weekend trips and like Beachcomber for extended stay trips. Looking forward to our first trip out, haven't planned it yet, still a little cool, hoping to get out in April.
